About Me

My photo
I am a mother of one tween and two teens and the wife of a man who I love. I am the follower of a Lord and Savior that is living, real and my everything. I love to spend time with friends, even though I don't do it very often, I love my job and I love going to my kids sports events. I golf with my husband, even though I don't do it well, he is always very patient with me. My life is good, not perfect, but good. I am happy.

Debbie the Polar Bear

I don't know if any of you know who Debbie, the Polar Bear is, but she is or shall I say was the last living polar bear at the Assiniboine zoo. She was put to sleep yesterday because she was very sick and really very old for a polar bear. 42 to be exact and she had many organs that were not working well any more so they did what they had to do. I saw her this summer and she didn't look very healthy. I really liked Debbie, I enjoyed going to the zoo and seeing her out there walking around or swimming in her pool. I'm going to miss her, she was a special polar bear or at least she had a special place in my heart. She reminded me of our time in Churchill and what a unique place that was. So, here's to you Debbie!!

Cricket Camp

Keanu spent a week this summer at Cricket camp at the Assiniboine Park. I faithfully drove him in everyday and spend the day there with him from 9 am to 5 pm. I have to admit that a few times I was out shopping in the mornings getting the kids ready for school, but other than that I spent the week watching him play. He did really well and had lots of fun, he really wanted to play indoor cricket this winter, but I wasn't to keen on driving into the city every week for that. It would be nice if it was something that could be started up here in our schools, something new for the kids to try perhaps?? Any ways, last weekend the had the cricket banquet and awards night and Keanu received a trophy and a medal. I was very proud of him and he was very excited too. So, hats off to you Keanu, you did well for your first summer of playing cricket! I'm proud of you.

This is way over due...

My niece Amber got married this month to Johnny. The wedding was amazing! I loved everything about it, it was so perfectly suited to her. Everything from the beautiful fall colors, the sunflowers, her awesome dress and shoes to the dance down the isle with her father. Johnny is a kind, loving man who's heart is on his sleeve when it comes to Amber. I love seeing that in him, I know they will be happy together and he will always take good care of her, it makes me happy!
Amber & Johnny, sorry this is so late, but I wanted to let you know that I love you with all my heart! I'm so very happy for both of you and my prayer is that God will bless you with a long, happy and fullfilling marriage.

God bless! :)

God the Artist...

I was just getting ready to enjoy some hot chocolate with my daughter when I looked out the window and saw these beautiful sights. God is the most AWESOME artist I have ever known!! It always amazes me how the world around us can look so different from one moment to the next. I love listening to the birds and seeing them fly around or sit on my deck looking for something to eat. The sunrise, sunset or how many different colors of green there are around us in the summer. Fall is definitely one of my favorite seasons even though it brings a season I don't particularly like, but the fall colors are truly amazing and even the winter has it's very own beauty! Our God is such a good and awesome God! I encourage you to take some time to praise Him today!! xoxo

Hello, Is Anyone Out There????

I've been wanting to put up a new post for a long time, but not quite confident that I really had anything worth the time and energy. Sorry, it's been so long.

Summer...it's a fun time, camp, sleepovers, late nights, bike rides, walks, beach.......

I've really enjoyed this summer dispite the fact that my husband was only home for three weeks of it. The kids are having a blast. I get to go pick them up from camp on Saturday, I actually miss them!!

Went to my brother-in-laws wedding a few weekends ago, it was great. They are in Paris right now enjoying the sites. I really wanted to go along, but some how it just didn't seem right, so here I am at my computer in my kitchen. I now have a wonderful, beautiful and intellegent sister-in-law that I love! I'm axiously awaiting my new nieces and nephews now!!

I've been painting a mural on the church nursery walls, I'll take some pictures and post them another day. And of course, work, work, work!! Yeah! :)

And we've celbrated Kenya's 10th birthday too. Kids grow up way, way to fast.

So, as you can see, I don't live a very exciting life, but it's my life and I like it.

What have you done all summer long???

HELP...I'm a Mother in need!

Hi everyone,

It's been a while again, I know. Don't think I haven't thought about writing, just can't find the time. Most days I'm lucky if I check my email. Any ways, I was hoping someone out there in bloggerland would be able to help me. I am looking for a dirt bike for my son and I just don't know where to look. Either new or a good used one. If anyone out there has any suggestions for me I sure would appreciate it. I don't like doing "Dad" things to begin with and this one is really hard. I just don't know enough about things like this to be of any good.

Well, thanks in advance for helping if you can.

Have a WONDERFUL weekend everyone!

And the winner is....

Hey everyone, I'm not sure if anyone one out there in blogger land is even checking my blog any more. Not that I would blame you, there hasn't been anything to see for many, many months now. The reason for this is because I wasn't so sure I had anything of value or interest to say to anyone, so I decided not to "say" anything. To be honest with you, I haven't really missed it, I've been working two part-time jobs and taking my kids to all kinds of places so I haven't really had time to think about it much. Not to say that there were not times when for a split second I thought, "Gee, it would be nice to work on my blog" but all to quickly the thought would pass and I would g0 on with my some what busy schedule.

Any ways, enough of that. I do actually have exciting news to share. Well, it's exciting for us any ways and weather you think it's exciting or not, I choose to share it with whoever may still be out there checking on this blog once in a blue moon. So here you are....
My son started taking Olympic style wrestling in November of 2007 and has participated in some tournaments in the past five months. At his first tournament he managed to come home with a bronze medal. We were very excited and quite proud of him for doing so will in such a short time (at this point he had only been wrestling for about 1 1/2 months and went up against some boys who had been wrestling for a few years). His second tournament he managed a silver medal, again our excitement rose and we were shocked and amazed! Third tournament, gold, a little shocking, but he had improved so much over the few short months that he had practiced and he really seems to have a natural ability for this. So last weekend were the Provincials, there were kids from all over, The Pas, Flin Flon, different clubs from Winnipeg etc. So, we were not to sure how he would do, but he managed to walk away with a gold medal! We were so very excited, I could hardly believe it, but it's true!! The other exciting thing is that there were 7 other kids from our club that got medals at the Provincials and also throughout the season, so they all did really well. And we all, by all I mean kids and parents had a lot of fun!!

Now I know this seems to be a lot of bragging on my part, but I think sometimes our kids deserve to be told they did well and maybe, just maybe they even deserve for it to be plastered all over blogging land.

So, thank you for listening to me rant about my son and his wrestling team and have a great day!!!

2008

Hello all my friends, I know it's been a while, haven't been sure what to post on so have decided not to post. Lately I've been tired, physically & emotionally. I want my hubby home, I don't want him to leave any more. He was here for Christmas for about 7 days and we had a wonderful time together with the kids. Then he left again, I'm tired of the leaving, but always happy to have him home, I just wish he could stay home when he comes. Alas, that is not to be just yet and so time keeps ticking and the world keeps on spinning and we keep on living. On the bright side, God has really been revealing Himself to me and that has certainly been encouraging! My greatest desire for 2008 is to learn to be more like my Lord, how I do love Him and the best part is He NEVER leaves! I know that He will also prepare our home for a day real soon that my husband will be able to be home with us and not leave too, until then, I lean on my God. So, to all my friends and family, I wish you all a blessed new year, with lots of love, good health and extreme happiness! God bless you all!!
