About Me

My photo
I am a mother of one tween and two teens and the wife of a man who I love. I am the follower of a Lord and Savior that is living, real and my everything. I love to spend time with friends, even though I don't do it very often, I love my job and I love going to my kids sports events. I golf with my husband, even though I don't do it well, he is always very patient with me. My life is good, not perfect, but good. I am happy.

Debbie the Polar Bear

I don't know if any of you know who Debbie, the Polar Bear is, but she is or shall I say was the last living polar bear at the Assiniboine zoo. She was put to sleep yesterday because she was very sick and really very old for a polar bear. 42 to be exact and she had many organs that were not working well any more so they did what they had to do. I saw her this summer and she didn't look very healthy. I really liked Debbie, I enjoyed going to the zoo and seeing her out there walking around or swimming in her pool. I'm going to miss her, she was a special polar bear or at least she had a special place in my heart. She reminded me of our time in Churchill and what a unique place that was. So, here's to you Debbie!!

Cricket Camp

Keanu spent a week this summer at Cricket camp at the Assiniboine Park. I faithfully drove him in everyday and spend the day there with him from 9 am to 5 pm. I have to admit that a few times I was out shopping in the mornings getting the kids ready for school, but other than that I spent the week watching him play. He did really well and had lots of fun, he really wanted to play indoor cricket this winter, but I wasn't to keen on driving into the city every week for that. It would be nice if it was something that could be started up here in our schools, something new for the kids to try perhaps?? Any ways, last weekend the had the cricket banquet and awards night and Keanu received a trophy and a medal. I was very proud of him and he was very excited too. So, hats off to you Keanu, you did well for your first summer of playing cricket! I'm proud of you.
